Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star

Everybody knows “Twinkle” because Mozart and some other composers played around with it. Most of us learned the alphabet using this melody. In the very first bar it asks you for the first two open (no valves down) notes on the Trumpet. The easiest key for us is the first one you see, but if your range is already above the A, try playing it in the other keys. If it doesn’t sound right you might not be totally obeying the key signature. If you don’t know what that means read this other post then come back. In the second key you start on a low D which requires that your 3rd valve slide be out far enough that the note sounds good. There’s a long explanation for that on this other post (scroll down to ***) or you can just take my word for it and put that slide out about 5/8″ or 1.5cm.
